About ConserFest: Hosts Local Winter Music, Dec. 11th
“A music movement for conservation awareness”
The mission of ConserFest is to raise consciousness and support for land conservation and environmental awareness through the celebration of music and art. Through a series of music and art events, ConserFest raises finances and awareness for land conservation as well as for the preservation of local heritage and culture. The proceeds and donations from ConserFest events help support and fund non-profit organizations dedicated to protecting the natural environment.
The ConserFest movement is a grass-roots project originating on Block Island, Rhode Island, in the fall of 2007. The efforts of organizations such as Block Island Conservancy (BIC) are inspirational to the ConserFest founders, who recognize the importance and urgency of raising awareness for land conservation among younger generations. ConserFest aspires to further the efforts of BIC and other like-minded organizations by educating the general public on the importance of conserving open space in beautiful places like Block Island.

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.

hahaha...love the syncronicity of this small planet...this girl walked into the pilates class, here in costa rica with a kokua festival t shirt on. she was a teacher from an alternative school that the festival is linked with...she told me that they are still so grassroots and helpful with all their info. the festival brought alot of awareness to her school, she was very grateful for it. she thnks conserfest should contact kokua for ideas, support etc.... i just had to smile at that. one love
