Living Donor Advocacy, books, music, writing, psychology, sociology, history, entrepeneurship, retired racing greyhounds, home renovation, power tools, current events....learning and growing, always....
I'm a sucker for a good songwriter, but admit at heart I'm a rocker girl. Duran Duran was my first love... Butch Walker, Marvelous 3, Goo Goo Dolls, Rage Against the Machine, Better than Ezra, The Killers, Live, Lynam, Our Lady Peace, HIM, Lacuna Coil, Mitch Allen, Billy Idol....My guilty (sort of) pleasure is indulging in great 80's music. I'm a product of the decade. I admit it, I own it.
Movies
John Hughes films (Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Buehler), Kevin Smith films (Chasing Amy, etc), the original Star Wars trilogy (blech on those prequels), Life as a House, Shrek, Ice Age, Cameron Crowe films (Say Anything, Almost Famous), Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Girl Fight, Saved, Rocky....I'm sure there are more...
Television
Six Feet Under, House MD, CSI (only the original), Sex and the City, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Judging Amy, Queer As Folk, Dirty Jobs, Cold Case, Without A Trace, Saving Grace, Criminal Minds.

Experienced columinist, essayist, journalist and reviewer. I'm currently writing a narrative non-fiction slash biography slash memoir about being a living kidney donor.
On August 5, 2008 I gave a kidney to my sister Mary. It made me see how completely deficient the transplant system is in how it treats and protects its donors, so I started a site, www.livingdonor101.com to educate and inform donors in the way the transplant centers should.
I've been creating some merch for my fellow Living Donors cuz frankly, what I found out there was incredibly mushy and that's just not my style
..
I'm a proud parent and foster parent for retired racing greyhounds. They're lovely, and weird, and wonderful, and stinky (as all dog butts are), and loving and kind, and quiet, and furry and soft, and dorky, and rather perfect. So if you want a pet, find a shelter or a breed specfic rescue group; avoid pet stores at all costs.
And I write. Some of it is even readable. I'm working on a rock n roll novel of sorts (FICTION, not autobiographical), and I'm part of a fabulous writing group that isn't afraid to raise a bit of a ruckus in the non-corporate coffee shop where we meet.
I just went live with my own webstie at www.cristywright.com; time to join the marketing machine, you know.
The blog I've been keeping since sometime in 2002 is called "What's With All the Feather Boas". You may find out more than you ever wanted to know, but you're welcome to hit the rss feed for that too.
I've got this ecommerce biz, Conspicuous Chick's Corner where I sell oodles of brand name cosmetics and girly stuff.
Who I'd like to meet: Eleanor Roosevelt, Betsy Ross, Jim Morrison, Brendan Frasier, Cameron Crowe, Tom Everett Scott, Mike "dirty jobs" Rowe, rock author Stephen Davis, Billy Idol, and the inventor of Icee's. Creative folks, especially writers that could keep me from my usual distractions....
There! Consider yourself added. Thanks for the invite. Glad mission control gave you the green light! They're doing a better job than CapCom did. heh heh.
Yes - another carbon-based semi-humanoid life form gives a shout out from Way Southern Georgia; aka North Florida :) I copped a peek at Della - Michelle totally rocks!! How freaking COOL is that?!? I won't do that in private, let alone with an audience!
