About me: I am a musician, (singer of Redhead Mack), that has always dabbled in photography... mostly to put a stop to the low self-esteem my female friends have occasionally displayed. What usually happened was I would do pictures for someone, they'd show their friends, and I'd end up taking pictures for them, too. This pattern of being sporadically busy has continued for quite a few years, until, at the encouragement of my friend and favourite model Coby Parkinson, I started "Context Photography and Design".
I have been developing a reputation as a comfortable photographer to work with, as I am professional and respectful, and seeking what really looks good for each person, couple, family, or band. I try not to take "stock" images... guy with guitar walking away on railway tracks in black and white, girl seductively eating strawberry... you know, overdone themes. I try to create an image that is tailored to my subject, rather than plug them in to something I use all the time.
Once we have an image that you like, I can play around with it to clean up or change the background, airbrush blemishes, add colour effects, logos, etc. Obviously, this process should start with a good photo, but sometimes you can take a photo specifically for what you are going to do with it afterwards.
The photo of the band Jakoba that looks like it is on a dune was a throw away shot of them as they walked across a school parking lot towards me... complete with light poles, a huge purse hanging off the singer's shoulder, and an ugly building in the background.. but the way they were spaced out was striking, so I took the shot anyways, knowing it would need some sort of treatment. It ended up being one of my favourite shots of the band.

Hey friend. No, I didn't see those pictures until today. I am going out with someone tomorrow who is going to show me a few things and I am really excited. I have pretty much been playing with the new camera steady since I got it and I am realizing that sometimes the good shots happen by accident. But I still want to figure out all of my settings.
