CONTRACRASH = EPIC ACTION METAL
Modern metal in its raw form combine with epic melodies to make this a massive, brutal, orchestral juggernaut! Much as a composer adds a soundtrack to a film, these rousing tunes by the boys from Southern Germany convey incredible emotion in their story-telling lyrics. And because of that, anyone embarking on the CONTRACRASH journey will experience all the emotions of having seen a movie.
Driving beats, crushing riffs, breakneck guitar solos, pumping bass lines, and the defiant voice of Andy Ritter are only a small part of the CONTRACRASH spectrum. Anyone who has ever seen the band live will know that whenever CONTRACRASH start playing one of their soulful ballads, no-one will be spared goosebumps! The icing on the cake is the powerful orchestral passages that ultimately transfer the listener to another world!
The debut album "GODDAMN PLANET" (Fastball Music / Sony Music, 2009) lived up to all expectations and has been acclaimed by fans and critics alike. On 12th December 2009 the album was awarded “BEST HARD & HEAVY ALBUM 2009" by DEUTSCHER ROCK- UND POPVERBAND". Club owners and festival organizers became aware of the band. And over the years, after many more than a hundred shows at home and abroad, CONTRACRASH has gained a strong loyal fan base.
CONTRACRASH´s next masterpiece is currently in the making!
Since the release of "Goddamn Planet" about forty songs were written and ten will find their way on the the follow-up album. A whole new era dawns with the release of "THY KINGDOM COME". Never before have CONTRACRASH sounded so brutal, so melodic and so entirely epic!
On this concept album, the band will present the first part of a postapocalyptic fantasy story, which has been inspired by the painting "PANDEMONIUM" by JOHN MARTIN.With songs like "CAST THE FIRST STONE", "BORN TO SURVIVE (TO STAND, FALL & RISE)" and the 21-minute epic "MOTHER EARTH", CONTRACRASH will prove that monumental story telling belongs not just in Hollywood!
To cap it all, the artist Eliran Kantor will take over the album's artwork. Kantor has already made his mark, mostly as the creator of album covers for bands like TESTAMENT, SODOM, HATEBREED and many others. To bring the story visually closer to everyone, he will also make Illustrations for every single song!
In late summer 2012 CONTRACRASH have already recorded an EP, which will be released in November under the title "APOCALYPSE RISING". As a foretaste of what is to come, the EP will contain the songs "HIGHER POWER", "ENTER MY GAME" and "HOW IT FEELS TO BURN". The album is scheduled for spring 2013.
