Contrive was formed by twin brothers Paul and Andrew Haug in 1999.
Released self-financed debut ep in 2001 titled Finally, now out of print.
2002 saw the band tour extensively including supports with MAYHEM (Nor) & DESTRUCTION (Ger).
2003 released the self-financed Prosper ep (+ CDRom) to solid reviews abroad.
Lots more touring, sharing stages with SEPULTURA, SOILWORK, and SKINLAB etc.
Late 2004 entered the studio to commence recording the debut album titled The Meaning Unseen, plus securing a support slot with MACHINE HEAD in October.
2005, the self-managed, unsigned band utilised the services of infamous Metal Producer Fredrik Nordstrom in Sweden to mix the album.
Fredrik, known for his impeccable work with ARCH ENEMY, OPETH, DIMMU BORGIR and the like, delivered stunning results that can be heard on the debut album The Meaning Unseen.
2007, they supported STONE SOUR (US-Side band of members of SLIPKNOT)
2009, the band will hit the studio In June to record their second album yet to be titled. It will contain 8 tracks, more info soon...
They also embarked on a Tour of Bangkok, Thailand in February 2009 which saw them perform 4 shows including a show with PARKWAY DRIVE.

UFO guitarist Vinnie Moore says this about WildeStarr "Arrival".... "Dave and London open up a big ole can of melodic heavy metal whoop ass on this one. At times the tunes remind me a little of Dream Theater. Dave has made a great transition from bassist to guitarist. This CD definitely rocks heavily!"
Vicious Rumors guitarist Geoff Thorpe says.... "Its great to see Dave and London lay it down like this!! After working with Dave in Vicious Rumors for so many years I can't say I'm surprised at how great this new WildeStarr CD is. Dave has always been very serious and focused and has transformed himself into a killer guitarist. London sounds like the new Queen of heavy metal vocals and the Arrival CD flat out kicks ass!!!"
Metal guitar legend and virtuoso DAVID CHASTAIN says..... "WildeStarr 'Arrival' is the best debut release I've heard so far in 2009. Newcomer vocalist London Wilde gives a star making performance."
Michael Fischer from KNAC.COM says.... "WildeStarr “Arrival” is a Progressive Rock Masterpiece! Hands down this is the best record of 2009! WildeStarr has a sound and chemistry that rivals Mercyful Fate and Dream Theater and a presentation that stands alongside records like Queensryche’s Operation Mindcrime."

Once again I have a favour to ask of everyone out there in the MySpace world, and I’m sorry because I know these things can get a bit annoying, but every vote counts, and I am happy to return the favour if you need me to vote or rate anything of yours, so… if you get the chance could you please rate my new song “Million Miles Away” on Triple J Unearthed?
