From the seedy underbelly of 21st century opulence, congealed from the rotting left-overs of “I hate my job” ill-will, emerges a pulsating entity of pure resistance, defiance and anger. Prisoners of the system 200 years ago, now with our freedom but prisoners still, we are Convict Anatomy, We fight with song, undermine with harmony, overcome with expression, through the medium of thrash metal we make our stand.

This group of insurgents is led by the Admiral Josh Cowan – lead song writer, singer and rhythm guitarist; To his right Tim Stewart (of Vernichten and Pitchfork infamy) co song-writing and ripping out lines of lead that can slash through every chain, on keys, samples and assorted other electronic paraphernalia , reformed pub-rocker, Lisa Lane-Collins and the thundering foundation of the band, rhythm section, ex Inexistence masterminds, Jack Jacobs-Moses on the drums and Daniel Sloan on the bass.

Taking cues from the likes of Death, Slayer, Metallica, Lamb of God and Pantera and from the badlands of opera and western art music, Convict have melded these influences together to create songs that go all the way from simple thrash to dark narrative a la Roger Waters. Extrospective lyrics contemplate our state in the system and the fate of the Convict Anatomy.

Convict Anatomy broke out late in 08 playing the October Metal Onslaught at Elizabeth's Northern Sound System, receiving positive response from the audience and bands alike. Since then they have played various small stages including the Magill Club and the Squatters arms with other local metal acts and an epic gig down at Murray Bridge with Realms and Evolution and Distorted Aggression. Convict have recorded one EP styled demo and are planning to record an EP for release early next year.
