<b>1-8 October 2011</b> THE COOISH is a celebration of Gaelic language, music and identity organised by Yn Cheshaght Ghailckagh (the Manx Language Society), with support from the Manx Heritage Foundation and local businesses. Taking place over a week in the Autumn, the festival is an eclectic mix of concerts, school workshops, lectures, music and language sessions. The festival is for everybody interested in Manx culture – whether you know any Manx or not, we'd love to see you throughout the week. The programme for 2011 is currently being planned. The 2010 festival involved a mixture of learners' events and visiting speakers and musicians. THE COOISH is a celebration of Gaelic language, music and identity organised by Yn Cheshaght Ghailckagh (the Manx Language Society), with support from the Manx Heritage Foundation, the Isle of Man Arts Council and local businesses. Taking place over a week each Autumn, the festival is an eclectic mix of concerts, school workshops, lectures, music and language sessions.
The festival is for everybody interested in Manx culture – whether you know any Manx or not, we'd love to see you throughout the week.
For 2011 the festival will involve a mixture of learners' events and visiting speakers and musicians. The fabulous Samling will feature on Friday 7th October and Professor Chris Moseley (UNESCO Atlas of Endangered World Languages) will deliver the Ned Maddrell Memorial Lecture.
