Welcome to the living CD that is Cool Island Flow. Complete with tropical island sounds and Jamaican influences, Cool Island Flow also incorporates many Latin elements into its musical textures.
1. Island of the Happy Sprites – Complete with natural flowing goodness, this happy little melody delightfully dances over a mellow, yet optimistic reggae groove. Peace and well-being are the main emotional themes found in this tune.
2. Good and Happy – Evoking many tropical island flavors, this simple song stresses love and kindness to all who listen to it. There is also a very happy organ solo in the middle of the tune.
3. Blue Tejano Sky – Featuring a highly infectious groove that fuses Tejano and Jamaican elements together, this delightfully simple melody is not pretentious in any way and only wants to evoke peaceful joy within the muses of the listener. The end of the work also features a brilliant acoustic solo performed over the main theme that has been modulated up a step.
4. Jamaican Spanish Lullaby – Complete with twin Spanish acoustic guitars performing the main musical theme, this song features an uptempo reggae-inspired groove that focuses on subtle delicacy. The two contrasting sections add to the overall flow, as the dreamlike qualities of the second section merge pleasantly with the more sparse and energetic textures of the first.
5. Silver Cove – This unique work combines the flavors of the tropical islands with the melody and counterpoint of twin pan flutes. Once again, happiness and goodness are the prevailing emotional elements that are present in the piece.
6. Spanish Island – This reggae-flavored tune also features twin Spanish acoustic guitars performing the primary melodic theme. There is also a tasteful guitar solo in the middle of the piece.
7. Shakin’ It – Featuring a vocal line delivered with rapid-fire intensity, this very sparse arrangement features a highly rhythmic bass and drum groove.
8. Rise Up Into the Sea – The mellow vocals and pan flute of this softly layered work are driven by a very determined bass and drum rhythm.
