About me:
Welcome to the official Myspace page of Coombeshead Recording Studios in Newton Abbot. We are lucky enough to get to meet and work with lots of local talent! The studio is mostly rock orientated, such as rock, blues, metal, punk, funk, screamo but we also lend our hands to classical and folk music from time to time.
The studio charges extremely competitive rates for an 8 hour session, which will get you about 6-8 songs if you are fairly well rehearsed, and mixing and processing is often totally free as this is done after the session, rather than taking up your paid recording hours. If you want to hear samples of our recording quality drop us a line and we will provide some material for you. CDs usually between 75p and £1.50 each for normal professional looking requirements, (depending on what you need and cheaper if you need 100+) and the price can be adjusted to suit anything specific you require.
Don't forget to check out the studios own website at www.coombesheadstudios.co.uk!
If you need directions to the studio, then click 'view my pics' for a map. Alternatively go to www.coombesheadstudios.co.uk, click the contact section and download there.
The studio has its own drumkit which may be used by recording artists. Its set up specifically for recording, so its sounds great in the studio and saves people having to bring along and set up their own kits. It consists of a bass drum, snare, 3 toms, hi-hat, crash and ride cymbals. If you wish to bring any of your own gear (e.g. snare and cymbals) then you are welcome to do so. We have a total of 4 cymbal stands, so if you use more than 4 cymbals remember to bring the stands for them, and if you use a double bass drum pedal you'll need to bring that as well. We can DI bass guitars so bass amps are not required if you would rather leave them at home. Just bring your bass guitar and effects pedal if applicable.
..
Who I'd like to meet: Musicians and bands who are into any guitar or piano based music. In fact anything based around performing on real instruments (i.e. not electronic based music). We're trying to form a network amongst bands and musicians, so if we don't add you don't take it personally but its hard to find bands in a friends list if you need to trawl through loads of other profiles to find them! So we're keeping our friends list tight...
Don't forget to check out some of the studios favourite bands who have recorded in recent months! Visit our top 16 and show your support!..!
