Comfortable is exactly where CO-OP should be right now. After countless shows and many hours spent recording their latest EP, CO-OP have every right to feel invigorated. CO-OP began in 2006 when Myke Chilian met Dameon Thompson and agreed to craft a style of accordion-electro-nerdcore that would defy categorization. Their impressive, self-titled debut was a locally heralded collection of stomping, progressive hardcore mixed with intricate accordion bravado.
The band signed with MONDO SPECTACULAR RECORDS in early 2009 and followed suit with another pivotal release within the experimental/hardcore underworld entitled ‘Preparing Essential Documents for Today’s Consumer Approval.’ This album was another chapter in the ever-evolving band and put them on the map of today’s modern wave of forward-thinking accordion metal. After several line-up changes, the band finally found their footing with 2007. New members Vik Mardirosian and Jacquie Thropay immediately clicked with Chilian, Overturf and Thompson and gave CO-OP the kind of foundation that would allow them to take their unique brand of accordion-electro-grind to the masses.”
