Having an older brother in the Chattanooga Boys Choir (CBC) when he was still in the womb, means that Cooper has been surrounded by music since before his birth. As soon as he was old enough, Cooper joined a select group of other 7 year olds in the CBC where he learned the techniques of the art of singing and, at the age of 11, toured with the choir throughout Europe, including singing at St. Paul's Cathedral in London and performances in Germany and Amsterdam. From the CBC, Cooper branched out and expanded his talents and musical training by taking up the trumpet, which he played extensively in jazz, symphonic, and marching bands throughout middle school, high school, and college.
The former front man, lyricist, and driving force behind the music festival playing group I=nterlaken, Cooper declared his independence from the group on July 4th, 2008. As a solo artist, Cooper is able to bring together various groups of musicians on different projects to accomplish the common goal of creating something special. No longer constricted by what the other band members were willing and able to do, Cooper has been able to create a sound more suited to his sonorous voice punctuated by powerfully poetic lyrics that resonate with the rhythms of the soul.
In his debut solo single, "Death by Revolution", Cooper chronicles the desperate struggle to fight an overwhelming feeling of hopelessness and the necessity of some drastic action to change ones circumstances. How did we get to this point before suddenly awakening and realizing that we can not continue living as we are? How did we get to a point that we would rather risk everything for the chance to be happy and to succeed than to continue the status quo? There is a commitment required to truly change one's life. Take that step and Join the Revolution!
