   About Coordinates
Matt Thibideau started off with his Moog Prodigy, a 4 track, and a drum machine. he dove into making electronic, industrail pop songs in 1989-1990. His basement soon became the place where he and his twin brother Mark would start their first project called the Waxbean Orchard.

After some years of fine tuning, they added vocalist Dawn Lewis to the line up.

The Waxbean Orchard were destined to move away from their home town of Wallaceburg.

They wished to continue forward in their quest to produce electronic music.

With experiencing the difficulties of working in a band format and playing in bars, the Undergound techno scene was getting more appealing.

Matt was soon going to parties and hearing these old synthesizers be used in new unique ways. (circa 1993).

On the side he began experimenting with techno in different forms....Both Ambient and dance floor related.

Later in the 90's He was playing live P.A.s throughout Ontario.

Performing with the likes of Peter Grove, Algorythm, Akufen, Mike Shannon, Pantone, Jakob Fairley, Jeremy Caulfield, Mike Huckaby, Ritchie Hawtin, & Dan Lui, This Lead to his first release on Blue Recordings.

His Monikor was Altitude. The sound was a bridge between the sounds of Berlin and Detroit.

Shortly after this Matt also did colaborations with Dan Lui, Percy X & Gaetano Parisio. Around this time he also submitted his first release for Cynosure.."The Focal Point"

His next project was Repair...an idea Mark and Matt had to dedicate a recording project to every broken synthesizer in their studios.

This was quickly signed to Sub-Static and released as "V-Wreck".

They had long time friend & vocalist Dawn lewis back into the picture to add voice and aspects of the Waxbean Orchard to the minimal side of Repair.

Also around this time (2001) Matt also changed his project name to Coordinates and released his first international single "Magnetics".

Then the Cynosure Velvet Bleu single was to follow. Velvet Bleu was inspiried by long time favorite film producer David Lynch.

Since then Matt has released other singles on Killer, Dumb-Unit, Sub-Static, & Onitor. His live performances have been heard in NYC, Valencia, Cologne, Frankfurt, Toronto, Detroit, & Montreal.

He plans to continue on making music on his old synths.

They are his inspiration to making new sounds and ideas.

Lx7.ca ATF#002 - The Community Issue It's spring 2007 and I've got a new PDF magazine online: check out - Assembler Techno Fanzine #002 - The Community Issue.

In this issue I cover the evolution of the DJ as a live performer, in an article titled An Unusual Connection; the analog sunset, and the evolution of information. I started the zine last year as an extension of my podcast Lx7 - There's something in that square. Download the PDF zine and check it out, or hit the Lx7 site and check out the whole series.
