Dragon Con 2007 My Playlist

Who I'd like to meet:

People.

Interests

  • General

I love life and family/friends that surround me, homeschooling my son, watching my children and (yes, I am that old... sigh) grandchildren grow as people, being close to my husband and best friend, Al, and sharing my home with my husband, son, his best friend and my 2 little cats, Midnight and Smokey.

I love people. I am a people watcher, which is why I really enjoy going to events like Dragon Con and Mardi Gras where there are many thousands of people from all walks of life gathered together to have a good time. I love to meet new and different people, and as Voltaire can verify, I have no problem just walking up and innitiating a conversation as if I have known you all my life.

I play around with photography and digital art, but am not really very good at either. It's enjoyable though.

I LOVE dark and spooky things! I think I was born with this dark side as I used to have really horrible nightmares (still do, actually) and learned to cope with them by entertaining myself with spooky images. My favorite thing growing up was to sit up late and watch the older monster movies on TV. I also enjoy science-fiction and fantasy related literature and movies, prefer reading horror to watching it, though. Somehow, my own imagination is much more frightning than what they show on screen. One notable exception, however is the Alien movie. That creature was really nightmarish!

    Which Tarot Card Are You?

You are the Moon card. Entering the Moon we enter the intuitive and psychic realms. This is the stuff dreams are made on. And like dreams the imagery we find here may inspire us or torment us. Understanding the moon requires looking within. Our own bodily rhythms are echoed in this luminary that circles the earth every month and reflects the sun in its progress. Listening to those rhythms may produce visions and lead you towards insight. The Moon is a force that has legends attached to it. It carries with it both romance and insanity. Moonlight reveals itself as an illusion and it is only those willing to work with the force of dreams that are able to withstand this reflective light. • Music

I enjoy many kinds of music, Voltaire, (his new group, The Oddz sound great as well!), David Bowie, Frank Zappa, The Art of Noise, Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, and (a given for someone my age...LOL) the Beatles + all their solo stuff and other bands. I could go on, but this should give you the picture. I also like jazz, classical, fusion, techno-pop and many other musical forms.
  • Movies

Yes, I enjoy movies. Many, many of them. Some of my favorite directors are Tim Burton and Clive Barker, and some of my favorite movies are Edward Scissorhands, Nightbreed, Gods and Monsters, Shadow of the Vampire, the old Bela Lagosi-Boris Karloff monster ficks, Metropolis and the silent version of Nosferatu.

On the lighter side, I enjoyed the movie Parenthood, 50 First Dates, Finding Neverland and most any Johnny Depp movie.

  • Television

Mostly I do not watch, but I do enjoy things on Discovery and TLC a lot. I have one guilty pleasure here, though, I have to confess. Desperate Housewives! I do not knkow why, but that show caught my attention early on and I have been addicted ever since. I think it appealy to my people watching side.
  • Books

This would be a LOOOOOONNNNNGGGG list. Authors might be easier

    Clive Barker
    Robert Heinlein
    Issac Asimov
    Joe Haldeman
    Stephen King
    some Anne Rice
    Voltaire
    Voltaire again (the French author)
    Shakespear

Lately, however, due to some health problems reading has become somewhat of a challenge. The last book I read in it's entirity was "The Divinci Code", and because of my issues, it took several weeks. I need to look into books on tape I guess.
