From the cultural wasteland that is London, Ontario comes CopyriOt, a punk band whose members have been deeply rooted in the London scene for over fifteen years. A combination of five talented musicians, energetic live performances, intelligent songwriting and often-relentless rehearsal makes CopyriOt a force that gains momentum at every show.
Each of the five members of CopyriOt brings an influence as diverse as the members themselves. Although sharing the Canadian punk of the late 70’s and 80’s, unintended traces of early 80’s hardcore, metal and so-cal punk are ingrained in CopyriOt’s sound. The main songwriting team is at opposing ends of the spectrum, one a university-trained composer and the other a self-taught player of eighteen years.This unconventional pairing, combined with a solid rhythm section and a vigorous front man, makes CopyriOt a professional band capable of unrestrained, intense punk energy.
