Took an impromtu trip to Harker's Island and Cedar Island yesterday. You can have the beach, I'll take the sounds. Desperately needed it. Feel a little better.Mood: contemplative contemplative9 hours ago view more

I love to listen to Smooth Jazz, Classic Soul, Motown and oldies. A little of other genres, but mostly I like it mellow. I even enjoy classical once in a while.

Some of my favorite movies are Crazy in Alabama, Fried Green Tomatoes, The Hudsucker Proxy, Big Fish, October Sky, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Space Odessy 2001, The Matrix, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It has to have a great story with lots of imagination. Don't care at all for chick flicks.

I don't like to watch a lot of TV. I watch mostly Heroes, Lost, Pushing Daisies, House, Gunsmoke, Star Trek Deep Space Nine, X-Files and recently, Dr. Who. I like shows that are different, unpredictable and imaginative. The British seem to have the best imagination. I don't care much for the run of the mill stuff that seems to flood the airwaves. Booorrrrinng! I watch a lot of PBS. Otherwise, there is not much on TV these days that will hold my intrest.

I used to read a lot. Now I can't seem to find much time. My favorite books or authors are The Bible, James Thurber, Mark Twain, J.R.R. Tolkin, C.S. Lewis, John Grisham. LOVE classic short stories. "The Heart is a Lonley Hunter" is a sad one, but I can relate to so many of the characters. My favorite book is a little one called "The Human Comedy" by William Saroyan. Favorite poet is Ogden Nash.

I have nothing but praise and awe for the brave men and women of our Armed Services! I have a son in the Navy of whom I am very proud of! Missionaries! Especially Paul and Ginny Whitty. They actually raised thier children in the jungle. Now that's bravery!! My children, who turned out great despite my lack of mothering skills. My son and daughter-in-law, who carry on with grace and beauty, after having lost their heart's angel. All those who make a real difference in other people's lives. All the ordinary, everyday people just making it in the world. The real heroes are the unknown ones!

Photobucket Because of my job and a chronic illness, I am unable to create any real artwork right now. So my creative outlet is to photograph what is around me, my ponies, my cats, Jessy's horse, Kiwi, and her stable mates, flowers in my garden, my children and grandchlildren when they are around. I am strictly an amature, but the joy is in seeing what I might discover in the flash of a moment. Photobucket I hope to use these photos one day as subjects for paintings and drawings. That's why I have so many on these pages, to remind me of what is still possible. I'm really not that obsessed with horses, etc. I just love beautiful things, and this is what is already around me. Photobucket Despite how long it takes, things are still possible.... Photobucket Education

About me:

"In my world, everyone is a pony, and they all eat rainbows and poop butterflies."

"A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write if he/she is to be ultimately at peace. What one can be, one must be." -Abraham Moslow, edited by Rejwan Ahmed Photobucket I am a first generation American. My mom and my dad are from Hungary. They were survivors of World War II. When communism threatened to take over their country after the war, they fled to Munich, Germany, where the rest of my relatives still remain. My parents immigrated to America soon after. My oldest sister was born in Germany, my next sister in Nebraska, me in South Dakota, and my late brother in North Dakota. I have lived in South Dakota, North Dakota, Indiana, Florida and Texas. But I now live in beautiful North Carolina. I have been to Canada (we lived only 50 miles south of Manitoba), Germany (to visit relatives) and Venezuela for two months to live with a missionary family and a tribe of Indians near the Orinoco River. I have a wacky husband with a bad back, three wonderful and grown children, of whom I am VERY proud of, the most perfect daughter-in-law, and three georgeous grand chillins, one of whom we lost a couple of years ago. I miss you Cayton! I can actually say that I love my in-laws as much as my own family. I have a Main Coon cat, and two cheeky mini horses. I'm a graphic designer, and web site developer, although I prefer to do illustration and fine art. I am perfectly content and even happy to be alone, but I do enjoy the company of good people.
