CALL FOR PAPERS - Art and Politics

Coraddi is looking for nonfiction prose works that explore the relationship between art & politics, especially in the context of current world events. What role does art have in the political arena? How should art treat political themes? Should politicians consider art when making policy? You may want to weigh these and other questions concerning responsibility, expression, morality, escapism, transcendence, utility, etc. You may want to discuss the political art of the present moment. You may also want to make a case for the complete separation of art & politics. Any & all approaches to the subject are encouraged.

Format: 15,000 words maximum, paginated, double spaced, 1" margins, 12pt Times font. MS Word files (.doc) preferred. Include a cover page with name, email, & phone. The entrant's name should not appear anywhere on the manuscript. Submit via email attachment to coraddi.lit@gmail.com.

The deadline is Friday, February 29th, 2008.

A cash prize of $150 will be awarded to the winning paper as selected by a faculty judge. Only students or groups affiliated with UNCG are eligible for the contest. However, all entries will be considered for the Spring 2008 issue of Coraddi.
