Jenny! Thank you soooo much for working so diligently to make the 10 yr. reunion happen. Although you experienced some pitfalls along the way, WE DID IT!!!! I am so glad I was able to go. Hope you had a safe trip back home.
Thanks to EVERYONE who came out and made the reunion a success! I hope you enjoyed yourselves despite all the rain. Be sure to give a shout out to DJMeans who provided the music, as the rain prevented us from a formal introduction or toast. With that...here is a toast to Gables. I asked you all whether you are coming to the reunion or not to participate in a simple activity that would only take a few minutes of your time. Only 4 of you have participated and to say the least I am disappointed in our class.
I know a lot of us are extremely busy; we are at the height of our careers, or we've had "jobs" for the last 10 years and are just now starting our careers, we are busy with boyfriends and girlfriends, marriages and weddings, buying our first house, or having babies. Let's not even think about the stress of having to keep up with bills, more bills, and more bills.
All that aside, many of you are not coming to the reunion for those reasons, so let's think about it for a minute...we had a great class at Gables. Our four years of high school shaped who we are today and what we've become, and even where we are going. Let's take a minute to reflect on that and share it with out classmates.
It may sound really cheesey, but some of you have done incredible things. You've traveled the world or you've sat at home and grown a love for the XBox. Whatever it is, this is your time to show yourself off, or your family, or just let people know you are still on the planet.
Please send me a list of 10 things you remember from high school and 10 things you've done after high school. If you want to include a paragraph on yourself today (keep it short) and one photo, please do that.

Our FRIDAY NIGHT EVENT at Christabelle’s is CANCELLED. Due to lack of interest from our class (under 10 reservations) Christabelle’s is not willing to work with us anymore to be able to have a Friday night event there, they will not reserve a spot for us w/o any RSVPs and therefore say it will be too crowded if we just show up. Please do not go there on Friday, October 5th. It has been cancelled – pass the word around!
OUR MAIN EVENT IS THE PLACE TO BE and guess what, YOU CAN STILL SIGN UP! Due to Hotel Astor closing their Restaurant (and breaking their contract with us), we have changed the location to the WISH Restaurant right around the corner. Many of you have already gotten hotel rooms and are planning after parties on South Beach, so the new location is close by. The new location is at the WISH Restaurant at 801 Collins Avenue, South Beach www.wishrestaurant.com on their roof deck poolside, with of course, our own DJ Means. With this new location we have been able to negotiate a lower price (still keeping food and open bar included). Event starts at 7:00 and open bar goes from 7-11 so get there early if you are planning on taking advantage of that. We will not need a final headcount until September 28th. So you can still pay on Paypal which now reflects the new price, or send your check to PO BOX 210864, Nashville, TN 37221-checks payable to Coral Gables Class of 97.
The NEW PRICE for the Reunion is $85.00 a person! Woo-Hoo…the hundred plus of you who have already paid – do not fear – you will be reimbursed the difference.
