...to educating myself. For too long the nation’s fears have been plagued by ignorance. Indeed, as a people we tend to fear what we do not understand: given our history so stained with the blood of war, the prospect of peace can be hard to fathom; given the corruption of our financial systems, the proposal of a resource-based economy as opposed to a debt-based one may seem far-fetched; sometimes, even the effort to protect those freedoms which constitute the very essence of our nation can seem impossible to protect without the erosion of civil liberties... without fear. Truly, we know that the solutions exist, though we're ofttimes ignorant concerning their whereabouts, and moreover afraid to navigate the uncharted-territories in which they reside. Nevertheless a great change is at hand, and I commit myself to expediting its arrival, expelling the Ignorance that threatens its way. I commit to educating myself.
