About me:
Core Temp Films is a brand new film company, which seeks to make artistic risks, and create cool, gritty films designed to entertain, engage and move you.

Karly Beaumont, a writer, director and photographer born and raised in Washington Heights, NYC, spearheads Core Temp Films. Karly started her career working in theater on and off stage until she found a creative position as a Lighting Director and Stage Manager. Since then has worked with two of the most innovative theater production companies in New York City: Project 400 Theater Group and Two Noses Productions. In 2003 she made her directorial debut with a stage production of Miguel Piñero's SIDESHOW, about a night in the life of street kids. SIDESHOW, produced for and premiered at the 1st Annual East Village HOWL! Festival and showcased at the renowned Nuyoricans Poets Cafe.

In 2004 she joined Chica Luna Production, a non-profit arts organization that supports and develops women of color in popular media with a social conscience framework. Along with her emerging work at Chica Luna, she is currently developing her latest feature script THE DIFFICULT KIND, a story of three young women surviving their "quarter life crisis." Her first short film, I'M NOT HERE, which deals with the worldwide issue of child sexual abuse, has been screened nationwide at various, educations institutions, conferences and festivals.

Next Core Temp Films will produce the short film, BEN & ELI, a story of revenge and deceit, written and directed by Karly.
