The songs of Christian folk artist Corey Doak have a profound insight into the life of faith and a keen sense of artistry that has touched many hearts in his 10+ years as an independent artist. His one man show captivates audiences with intelligent lyrics, impressive musicality, humor and warmth of spirit. “Orthodoxy in blue jeans”, “a mystic poet”, “a gifted storyteller”, and “the third funniest guy in the room” are a few words that have been used to describe him.
He would probably just say that he loves God, people and music.
His new CD No Sudden Movements has an organic acoustic feel reminiscent of classic singer/songwriters such as Bob Dylan and James Taylor, but there is an element of artistic expression similar to bands such as Coldplay and City and Colour. No Sudden Movements is Doak’s fifth full length release.
As a performer he has traveled across Canada & the United States, and internationally to Mexico, Lithuania and Latvia. His albums have been nominated for many awards, including the Western Canadian Music Awards and the Covenant Awards.
Corey lives in Kelowna, BC with his wife Angela and their two cats, Nico and Hootie.
