Corey Pena first started playing music in his early years of high school in Queens, New York. He studied guitar and enjoyed playing rhythm. When there was an opening for a bassist in a local high school band, Corey jumped at the chance. It was within this band that his taste for the progressive came. He played Yes, Genesis, Jethro Tull, and the sort. At the end of High School, Corey joined another band that was comprised of some of the members of the current Black River Band including the drummer from Swamp Cabbage simply known as Jagoda. After a short period with them, Corey moved on to pursue different musical stylings with a more progressive touch. Over the years, Corey played with various groups writing, arranging, and recording. At present, Corey is focused on writing music and recording. He occasionally does some side work in mix down production with his friend Ralphy Rodriguez formally of the Latin teen pop group Menudo.
His current set of recordings focuses on the joy of his daughters save one tune. Roses and the Sky is a song about the father of a severely disabled child who cannot speak, dress, or feed herself at age 12. The father has dreams in which it is possible to see his daughter sing, speak, dance, and comfort him.

Yes it is! She is a God-send and I don't know what I would do without her. My best friend since 5th grade and the sister I never had all wrapped up in one Godly woman. Yes, all those who know her are truly blessed. Haven't had the chance to check out your movie yet but I will soon. Hope you had a great Easter!
