Since he plays music of many genres, fittingly, Cornell's musical influences come from many genres. Woodwind players and composers that feature woodwinds: Nancy Rumbel, Paul Winter, Secret Garden, David Lanz. World flute players: Peter Phippen and Michael Graham Allen (Coyote Oldman). Classical/Baroque woodwind players: Matthias Maute, Marion Verbruggen, Saskia Coolen, Han Tol, Heinz Holliger. Composers of the Baroque: G.F. Handel, J.S. Bach, G.P. Telemann.
Cornell Kinderknecht is a performer of flutes and other woodwind instruments from around the world. His original compositions and playing have been described as soothing, soaring, haunting, and playful with influences of Native America, the Middle East, India, and the Far East. His musical style draws from his experience in the areas of classical, pop, folk, jazz and world music.
Recordings:
Cornell's Nightfall CD is his latest solo world flutes recording project released in 2008. Nightfall envelops you in its gentle, peaceful, quiet embrace. The voice of one of the most ancient musical instruments—the flute—fills your heart and soul. Native American flute, bansuri, ocarina, bamboo flute, and Irish whistle presented in beautiful arrangements.
Cornell's solo CD of original instrumental music entitled Returning Home was released on his independent label, Artesound Music. On Returning Home, Cornell plays flutes from many cultures. He presents Native American flute, Bansuri flute from India, bamboo flute, recorder, and ocarina in beautiful and breathtaking musical settings. The flute is sometimes used as a lone solo voice or accompanied by keyboard and percussion. The music ranges from introspective to exotic to all out fun. Cornell's performance on Returning Home led to his placement as a finalist for Musician of the Year at the 2006 Texas Music Awards.
Equilibrium combines keyboards in a trance beat with Tibetan bowls providing soothing undertones, and world flutes for punctuation. The CD is perfect for dancing, movement, meditation, sound healing and energizing your body. Cornell Kinderknecht (World Flutes), Jodi Roberts (Tibetan bowls and bells), and Bill Protzman (keyboards).
The CD Ziba was recorded live inside a beautiful cave in the Texas Hill Country. This magical setting was perfect for the sounds of Cornell Kinderknecht on World Flutes and Jodi Roberts on Tibetan Singing Bowls. Ziba is beauty and joy expressed through music. Hear the natural reverberation of the cave, the dripping water, and the other wonderful sounds inside the earth. This is a wonderful meditative and healing recording.
(Twas in the Moon of Wintertime) This is Cornell's arrangement of this beautiful tune for Native American Flute. Cornell Kinderknecht on Native American flute, Cynthia Stuart on piano, Paul Simonsen on bass, and Billy Bucher on percussion. "Cornell's is refreshingly different, engaging, and the style of play simply mesmerizing... The flute play is absolutely wonderful, and the variety of musical sounds is rather amazing." -- Rick McDaniel, Heart of the Cedar / Voice of the Wind
"You'll be comforted by Kinderknecht's songs as the music is perfect for leaving in the player for soothing sounds of Native America and worldly rhythms that add percussion and even keyboards to the tracks..." -- Lucky Boyd, My Texas Music

I dreamed I was a butterfly I felt free going from flower to flower, drifting on a warm midday breeze, delighting with nature's beauty in its splendor.
Suddelny I woke up and realized that I was really Chuang Tzu.
Now I ask myself, was it me who dreamed I was a butterfly or was it that the butterfly was dreaming of me? (Oriental tale)
Happy each second, whole, each one of them, all.
Beyond the limits, beyond what ends, what begins, from mind's sight that sets boundaries on time.
