The Corner has hosted some incredible and memorable shows over the last 10 years.Here are some of the highlights:

The legends from overseas...

Joe Strummer from the Clash played one of his last tours with us and the Big Day Out festival before sadly passing away in 2000...The Rollins Band played an amazing show in 2003 playing a set of Black Flag tunes as benefit for the West Memphis 3...Lee Scratch Perry played three sold shows in 1999...Elliott Smith played his only Australian tour at the Corner in 1999...Weve also hosted shows for legends from the 60s, 70s and 80s such as Link Wray in 1996, The Buzzcocks in 2003, Pere Ubu in 1999, Love in 2002 and The Violent Femmes andWire in 2003.

And of course some of the biggest acts in the world played their first Melbourne shows here...The White Stripes in 2000...Blink 182 were here in 1997...The Dandy Warhols in 2000...Mr Bungle in 1996...Ben Harper played on his first Australian tour back when his 2nd album was released back in 1996.

Crowded House played an emotional farewell show for members of their Melbourne fan club just a few days before their finale on the steps of the opera house in Sydney...Midnight Oil played three shows in 1997...Men at Work did a free show for the fans in 2000...Weve also hosted re-unions for The Models, The Stems, Beasts of Bourbon, The Scientists and of course many shows from the likes of Paul Kelly, Spiderbait, The Cruel Sea, You Am I, Radio Birdman and more...

Most Australian acts play the Corner on their way to becoming household names, so we tend to see them right at the start of their careers and every year belongs to one or two acts often the least expected...It was Powderfinger and The Dirty Three in 1996...The Living End in 1997...Something for Kate in 1998...Alex Lloyd and The Whitlams in 1999...The Avalanches.. in 2000...Motor Ace in 2001...Machine Gun Fellatio in 2002...Jet in 2003...Pete Murray, Missy Higgins and Hilltop Hoods (the first and only band to pre-sell out 4 consecutive nights) in 2004...and Wolfmother in 2005.
