Corpus Callosum is Doug S. (amplified cello & effects) and Scott N. (arp analogy synthesizer, roland 808-ex, and effects/loops). Together we focus on a mix of melodic and atonal drones. The music is inspired by musicians who have explored the impact of frequencies on the conscious and unconscious mind as well as feelings of despair triggered by empathy for those who suffer day in and day out often as a result of third world exploitation.
As a result of Scott N. moving to Raleigh, NC, the band is planning on exchanging files through the mail and online to do overlays. We have not disbanded by any means and continue to put out releases as time allows. We would be more than happy to release stuff on most DIY labels that put out solid releases with decent distribution. We are cool with limited runs, possible collaborations, and splits also, so don't be afraid to get in touch. We're very humble and could care less about making music off our art, which costs us just gas money and supplies to create. Big thanks to Jeff Surak aka Violet for his support by putting us on the amazing DC fest, Sonic Circuits.
We are open to playing weekend shows and fests as long as given enough notice. However, if you're looking for a fill-in on a cancelation, don't hesitate to contact us and we will see if playing is a possibility.
Thanks to everyone for their support and kind feedback. We are moving into a more cohesive, song-oriented structure as opposed to using our past improvisational, kinetic energy to develop the sonic generations that have occurred to date.
