Follow @CorrinaGreyson Corrina Greyson is a unique entity in the British Funk and Soul music scene. It's quite a claim for sure, but it's a claim easily backed up and one few could refute. She is known to many primarily because of that voice. That voice, informed and inspired by a pantheon of vocalists from Etta James to Bette Davis. Its a voice that lends itself to a pounding, foot-stomping, Hammond-driven funk-out, or a stripped-down soul ballad that reaches into your chest and wrings out your heart. Her live shows are about more than just the tunes. As a headline act there is no 'phoning-it in' or going through the motions. The arc of her set is meticulously thought through. It's a planned journey which scoops the audience up and whisks them on a ride with Corrina firmly at the helm. Anyone who has seen her will testify that she's working it from the moment she enters the venue till the time they come in to sweep up. She's got a a big bag of plenty for her musicians and her specially chosen guests, because its always a family affair, while she never forgets that her audience, once again, are guests of honour and she isn't afraid to use humour, the odd well meaning jibe and heartfelt banter to put us at our ease. There are plenty of great names on the scene. But how many promote their own nights, hand-pick their band, arrange the parts, call up the DJs, trawl the hottest clubs and festivals in Europe to bring all the elements together for one night? Just one - Corrina Greyson. Rather than be pushed onto a bill that was thrown together in a venue that just doesn't cut-it, Miss Greyson formed G-Spot events to promote her own nights at World renowned venues like The Jazz Cafe and The 100 Club. From overseeing the flyer design, to spreading the word personally in the lead up to the event, to the night itself - often delivering 6 hours of bona fide funk and soul, Corrina is there every single step of the way. Its important to emphasise that the live Corrina Greyson experience is one that is respected the World over. She has toured extensively throughout Europe and the USA and word of her nights has travelled fast through the funk and soul scene resulting in some genuinely World class acts delivering their magic to her audience in the UK. There was one more weapon in her already formidable armoury; songwriting. The past few months have seen a shift towards writing the tunes that she will be recording for her new album but also bagging Top 10 hits in Holland for Ben Saunders as well as producing limited edition 7" vinyl recordings that have become highly sought after collector's items. Her songwriting has already piqued the interest of legendary writer/producer Guy Chambers and also film composer/producer David Arnold. All this puts Corrina in this very unique position of performer/promoter/songwriter. No one else does it all. She is a unique force on the scene and has earned her coveted reputation by a mixture of hard hard graft built on a foundation of undeniable talent. There really isn't anyone out there coming anywhere near to doing what she does. Corrina Greyson is something of a force of funky nature. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .... ...... .... ....Tearing it up with The New Mastersounds @ The Jazz Cafe. .......... .... -

Originally a much respected blues vocalists and collaborator, it’s hard to think of an act worth their salt she hasn’t shared a stage with."The Beat Collector - Right Side Of Funky"
