QC Pettifoggery

I am here to introduce you to the Brotherhood(pic) (& the Sisterhood {pic}) who really rule this country of ours and QC Pettifoggery is 'deadly serious about us having fun.' (pic)
We can't fix a problem if we don't know we have one so QC Pettifoggery's primary aim is to raise awareness in Scotland of its self-serving, self-governing legal profession (vid) which is ultimately beholden to a Master Insurance Policy. Our problem is especially acute in 2009 when Scotland's Justice Secretary, Kenny MacAskill, who is a solicitor himself, can claim that Scottish democracy owes the legal profession a 'great debt' (vid) without even blushing.
Pettifogger: An old word for a dodgy 'lawyer or politician who uses unscrupulous or unethical methods to their own gain'.
'QC Pettifoggery is here to expose the grip that the insurance industry has on the judicial and political systems in Scotland, and the subsequent corruption of our lawyers, who are serving their own and corporate interests at the expense of both their unfortunate clients and Scotland's justice system.'
QC Pettifoggery will be blogging about how to get your lawyer to work cheap, do as you say - and if he/she doesn't - how to get the wee pettifogger's bill reduced to a human level.
All pettifoggers care about is money, image and status so QC Pettifoggery says 'hello' to the Scottish legal fraternity with a poke in the eye to some of the folks who are delusional enough to believe Scotland wouldn't be better off without them and their pettifoggering little ways.

Scottish lawyer Michael Karus jailed, 5 October 2009-BBC News
A former lawyer, who embezzled over £400,000 from a dead woman's estate to pay off his own debts, has been jailed for three-and-a-half years. Michael Karus, 48, earlier pleaded guilty to embezzling £413,052 while acting as the executor of the estate of Edith Hampton, who died in 2003.

Fraud is easy to understand...it is explained on the UK Police – Information website. “There is no succinct definition to embrace all the criminal forms of cheating....’ No ‘nice legal arguments’ required. The criminal lawyers defraud the public purse by eking out cases as long as they can while civil litigation is seen by we pettifoggers as being where the ‘real’ money is made. Insurers seek asbestos law review-BBC News-2009
UK insurers are hoping to overturn a new Scottish law that allows people to claim for past exposure to asbestos.

Insurance giants Viva, Zurich, AXA Insurance, and RSA have launched a legal action at the Court of Session in Edinburgh (S&M oblige them) arguing that pleural plaques, which the new legislation recognises as a symptom of asbestos related illness, is nothing really to do with victims fatal exposure to the substance.

thanks for the request, I have enjoyed reading your page and I applaud your efforts to bring the conduct and lack of integrity in the profession to the fore.

Cheers Auld Yin I used to drink in folky pub next to Grey friars Bobby its named after the street. great atmosphere, I knew it as Sandy Bells, they produced a broadsheet with folk info; thats was the old name of pub' but your older than me so you should know it better than me. Thats it Sunday almost midday, gonna have a vodka, just had a cyber drink from my ex fiance the oregon girl on my profile, she beats me at yahoo chess now darn she is sneaky, so heres tae us damn the rest. ps how did u know my birthday tommorrow ?? gotta watch security issues online.

Its a classic but what the hell im sure lawyers drink it too. Never pretencious; Bitter but an easy going drink, great on a cold winters night in some quiet howf in the middle of nowhere, roaring fire good music and a Lock-In (totaly illegal heehee. Note the scots never taxed whisky its an english law. I bet you know that one heehee

Problems with lawyers and the courts need to be seen as part of our general problem with the state, the government and the monarchy.

These problems with lawyers and the rest need to sorted out by electing a good president of a republic, which we can't have until we boot the Queen and the royals out.

It also means recognising that all the political parties who don't fight for a republic are of no use.
