I've Been around alot of scenes, seen alot of things, but that dosen't make me any more or any less important than anybody else. I'm a stone cold believer in certain things and I have had to get used to the fact that theres a way that things ought to be and a way that things really are. I do write songs but to me there is more to being a singer-songwriter than just writing and I feel compelled to share what that is with others each time I take the stage alone with my guitar and harmonicas. I Have nearly spent my whole life since the time of my birth in Georgia, I've also lived in Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, and North Carolina, which makes up the entire geographical region of this country which recieves credit for being the birthplace to the genres of Honky Tonk, American Folk, The Blues, and Blue Grass , which can otherwise be summed up into a single style known as AMERICANA. I have ultimately come to regaurd the cross~harp as my birth right (musicaly speaking) though I come from a punk rock /emo-esque backround, which I often refer to for inspiration in an attempt to further carry on the traditions of american roots music , and to create an authentic yet modern variety of my own brand, as it is my belief that the pioneers of american roots music are consequently the pioneers of punk rock as well, having very little difference between the two styles, from social ideology to musical and structural integrity. _cortez
