My name is Simon Jones and I run the World of Cortina internet site, my goal is to organise the Biggest Charity Music Concert since Bob Geldof's Live Aid and raise millions of pounds for charities in 2012 by celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Ford Cortina car 1962 - 2012.
With the success of the Ford Cortina and 'Cortina' in music over the years.
Im looking ahead and thinking BIG.
By using artists and songs that have been put together over the years, we should be able to put together a complete range of music.
Also hopefully some of the music Ford's used to advertise the Cortina range.
The best site for it would be the New Wembley Stadium in London, as that was the birth place of the Ford Cortina a few miles down the road.
With big names who have had hits in music with Cortina who I am hoping will support, Elton John, Tom Robinson Band, The Lambrettas, The Saw Doctors, The Salford Jets, Alexei Sayle to name a few and lots of other smaller bands which would make an international line up.
I have contacted these charities and have there support, Help the Aged, Cancer Research UK and The Chernobyl Charity UK, as my partner is Russian, an important lesson for us all about Nuclear mistakes.
This maybe the last big celebration we can do on a car the world Loved and the people who used them.
All the charities have something in common, as Cancer can effect everybody and this is a way of supporting people.
I am in the process of contacting as many people, Newpapers and TV who can help make this concert possible.
If you have any connections in the music industry, I hope you could help support this cause and spread the word.
