Hakkımda:

The Benton Brigade is looking for new recruits to play the Irish game of hurling - fast & fun mix of lacrosse, soccer, rugby and hockey! All ages, all genders, all races are welcome to participate.

Please bring cleats, shinguards, gloves, and your own water to practice! Also, if you have a lacrosse helmet, that would be a good idea to wear, although we do usually have a few extra.

We practice every SUNDAY, from 10 AM to 12:30 PM @ Avery Park (open field south of the rose garden)

We regularly play matches against Columbia Red Branch, the Portland-area club.

NEXT MATCH: Benton Brigade vs. Columbia Red Branch - Saturday, August 1st - 11 AM - Willamette Park @ end of Goodnight Avenue

Feel free to ask us questions, we love discussing this fast & fun game with new people!

Contact us for any reason, either through our Myspage page or the following:

WE ARE SPONSORED BY BLOCK15 BREWERY (www.block15.com) & GET DISCOUNTS ON PINTS AFTER PRACTICE!

When you have no girlfriend to occupy your time, you gotta find something to do. Beats watching tv all day

I'm working my way back into the riding, with the eventual goal of being able to a)afford a big hit bike and b)ride it well enough to look sorta like I know what I do. Now its mostly hard trails when i can get to them

meh, i had my own car as a shield, so there was that. thanks for the concern!  just found out the poor schmuck who was driving his mom's mercedes suv and hit me head on is shelling out full compensation (ran a red, went the wrong way too) so the car is getting unwrecked and we'll be able to resume house hunting a week or so before we have to move. hooray! at least i can still lift my own beer to cry into lol.

Hey all come support the Columbia Red Branch by seeing the Portland Timbers vs. Bayern Munich at PGE Park July 2nd! Our club is selling tickets to the event for $15 and playing at half-time! If you'd like tickets contact the Columbia Red Branch or me(tim) personally at (503)810-0025. See you all in Corvallis June 20th and of course in Portland July 2nd;)

Timbers fan have been a lot of talk usually, saying they love the game, and really want to play, but always fail to show up. I really think a college club (PSU/PCC) would be a big score, and GF may be the way to do it. I'd like to play that game as well, anyways. Theres also a serious lack of athletes who want to try something new, so you lose the cream of the crop to established sports.

We are working on that. Right now a lot of the core is the old school Vancouver guys. We actually envision Portland Westside, Portland Eastside, and SW Washington all having their own teams, all playing under the CRB banner, and we could pull from all those teams for tournaments. Its just so tough to get any people to come out and try a new sport that is so different from anything they have tried before. Right now, for example, I'm on the west side, and there are only 3 more here, all 3 are Irish, and 2 are downtown, not out in the burbs. Id like to start a gaelic football team as sort of a gateway drug, but not a  lot of other guys want to play that.

found an amazing field in an awesome park, but its not technically a sports field so i think it would be easy to squat for a game

I was able to play goalie at practice this week, but not much running going on. We'll see how soccer goes tonight. Thanks for asking. You guys have fun up here?

Hey Dustin! Now that all the soccer teams are finally over and classes are less hectic, I'm thinking about going to practices again starting next week! I'll most likely have to re-learn everything (especially soloing, yeah) though. I may bring a newbie friend or two along as well.
