Cory Asbury began leading worship at his church in North Carolina at the age of 17. Even from childhood, music has always had a profound impact on him. "I'd find a CD that I really loved, that really moved my heart and just sit in my room, silent and still and just listen," Cory says. He was originally planning to attend UNC Chapel Hill when the Lord redirected his path. Through a few friends who had just graduated the One Thing internship at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, he was encouraged to go and check it out for himself. "Thinking the internship was solely dedicated to raising up young worship leaders, I decided to come. I soon found that the Lord had tricked me into something much bigger than myself." This internship required each intern to study, worship and pray in the prayer room for long hours each day. After 6 months he "realized that this was what I was made for. To sit before Him and love Him."
Cory says that his songs usually begin with a gentle nudge or whisper from the Holy Spirit which flows out of tenderness in quiet time with God. "Usually, the Holy Spirit will give me a melody or a chord progression and that's where it all begins. From there, I continue to ask Him what He's saying...I ask, 'How can I express what I am feeling through music?'" His goal through his music is that hearts would fall more in love with Jesus, and that a deep longing to know and love Him more would be awakened. Cory says his hope is that when people listen to his songs, they'd find themselves in the presence of the Lord, that they would know the delight of God over them, and that they would find true enjoyment in spending time with Him. Cory, who currently leads worship with associate leader Jaye Thomas, is married to Anna Asbury, a prophetic singer on his worship team at the House of Prayer. He has dedicated his life to fasting, prayer and worship, for the raising up of houses of prayer all across the world.
Cory is a full time worshiper who raises his own financial support.
Father, in the Name of Jesus, bless me even while I'm reading this prayer and bless the one that sent this to me in a special way. Open doors in our lives today. Save and set free! Give us a double portion of your Spirit as we take back everything That the devil has stolen: Emotional Health Physical Health Finances Relationships Children Jobs Homes Marriages I cancel every plot, plan and scheme the enemy has devised Against us in the NAME OF JESUS. And I declare: NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST US WILL PROSPER. I speak LIFE into every dead situation. And, I thank you that nothing is over until YOU say it's over! I speak prophetically into our lives and to our situations: Our households are blessed; Our health is blessed; Our marriages are blessed; Our finances are blessed; Our relationships are blessed; Our businesses are blessed; Our jobs are blessed; Our children are blessed; Our grandchildren are blessed; Our parents are blessed; Our siblings are blessed; Our ministries are blessed; Our decisions are blessed Our friends are blessed. Husbands are on the way; Wives are on the way; Mortgages are paid and debts cancelled; Our hearts' desires are on the way; According to YOUR perfect will and plan for our lives. YOU SAID YOU'LL NEVER FORSAKE US! IN JESUS' NAME! AMEN! Say this prayer, and then pass it on to EVERYONE YOU KNOW. Within hours countless people will have prayed for you, and you will have caused a multitude of people to pray to God for each other.
Cory, when we go behind prison bars in our ministry the inmates love "Counting the Cost" and "Let Me See Your Face". We play those songs when we're setting up an invaribly the place blows up. The reaction is strong. By the time we get playing most everybody is in the spirit. What a blessing. My wife and a bunch of friends are coming to IHOP in Dec. but I'll be touring in India. Keep me in your prayers, last year some people got stoned in the area we're going. I'm talking about old fashion stoning with rocks, not the other kind. I feel good though, I got an audible voice that said "Trust In Me." It was a first for me, I'm ready. Blessings to you................Mark
The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in him, and I am helped: Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; And with my song will I praise him God Bless You

Cory, I just got "Let Me See Your Eyes" today. Great stuff, your stepping out into new territory. Aubra did the same thing on "Vow." That's an excellent Cd also. "Let me See Your Face, God" really caught me by surprise, it is a pleasant surprise. That's some great rap bro. I had heard "My Beloved" from your site, great song. "Faithful to the End" is beautiful contrast. What an exicting CD, I'm sure it will reach alot of people for the kingdom. Your a faithful and talented worshipper that keeps growing musically and spiritually. if you get a chance check out my song "Singing Praises". It might touch the rocker in you. In Dec. and Jan. I'm headed out to do some stadium concerts in India. I'm working on some new material that sounds like Jason Upton on steriods. I think you might like it. Blessings................Mark
Cory, been listening to your new songs the last couple of days, wow. All three songs are coming from a different place musically, very cool. But there all filled with the heart of a lovesick warrior. You have a "David spirit". Keeeeeeeeep pouring out, it's getting better all the time, the father is smiling down on you. If you get a chance check out my song "Mystery" it has a similar vibe to "Where I Belong." I think you might feel His presence.................Mark
