Cory has never been one to take the conventional route. After military service, 4 years of college, and a stint as a glorified cabana boy at a tropical resort, he made his way to Tokyo. Instead of waiting until he finished his travels to fulfill his lifelong aspiration of becoming a Stand-up comedian, he decided to just start where he was. He soon joined the Tokyo Comedy Store (Tokyo’s longest running English comedy club), quickly became a regular and began performing at venues throughout the city. Using his highly energetic style of Stand-up he quickly became an audience favorite. Cory’s varied background and experience abroad - entertaining military members, college students, ex-pats, Japanese English speakers, and many more - has enabled him to create material which is both accessible and relevant, yet original. While in Tokyo, he also performed for Disney’s World of English in a nationally touring live children’s show, held lead roles in several plays and musicals, and appeared in a nationally televised Diet Coke commercial.
Since moving to New York in April of 2007, Cory performed in the New York Underground Comedy Festival, was published on www.chucklemonkey.com, and performs in comedy clubs all over New York City including the New York Comedy Club and Broadway Comedy Club.
TV Shows
Here is a Diet Coke commercial I did a while back for Japanese Television. Enjoy!
A very brief appearance (don't blink) on a Japanese morning talkshow. They were reviewing a book about jokes foreigners make about Japanese people so naturally they came to a Tokyo Comedy Store show to see how it's done.

Movies
Currently watching many many in order to update my conversational movie refrences. After 5 years living abroad I should have known, Hasta la vista ain't getting em like it used to.
Television
Through the wonder of Netflix, I'm catching up on various shows.
Books
I'm constantly reading. If you have a good book to recommend I'm always up for it.
A recent article about a show I started in central Tokyo.
Funny things:
I took this picture in Shibuya and although these guys with their lowriders and cholo clothes may look it, trust me, they are about as Mexican as I am Black!
I took a photoshop class and have been playing around a bit. Let me give you a little background on this picture. The character Anpanman, roughly traslated into Bread Man, is a popular super hero among young Japanese children. The term nanpa means the act or some call art, of picking up chicks. Mix the two together and you get:
Heroes
Bill Clinton and many others I can't remember right now.
I live in New York and tell jokes/funny stories. I just moved here after spending 4 years in Japan so nevermind that weirdness you feel, it's just me. I'm adjusting. When meeting, if I do a half-ass bow or tell you a story about eating--miming chopsticks instead of a fork--please just let it go. I'm slightly askew. It's going to take some time.
I used to perform Stand up comedy (in English) with the Tokyo Comedy Store. If you're there or going, check out a show. Most are free and they're always fun.
Who I'd like to meet: Old friends, new friends, and other people with big sexy noses.
