Cory Wilds is a Seattle area native and resides in Renton, WA. Cory has been recording and performing live for over 20 years with various acts around the Pacific Northwest. Current influences range from Jimi Hendrix, Freddie King and Stevie Ray Vaughan to Joe Pass, Brent Mason and John Coltrane. Since graduating in 1993 from The Evergreen State College, Cory has continued to teach guitar by day in his Renton area studio and also co-owns Speedster Amplifiers, Inc. which manufactures high quality guitar amplifiers for some of the biggest names in the guitar world. Cory plays Gibson Guitars, Don Grosh Guitars, a few surprise guitars, and screams through Speedster and Rivera Amplifiers.
Mark resides in Des Moines, Washington and plays Sadowsky NYC and Metro basses through an Eden WT-800 amplifier with an Eden 4x10-XLT cabinet. Mark's style incorporates many musical influences from varied genres including artists such as James Jamerson, John Paul Jones, and Derek Smalls. His playing style features a fat groove and a big sound. Mark and Eva have played together as a rhythm section for 4 years and as such have developed a nearly telepathic musical interaction resulting in a very tight sound.
Eva was raised around music listening to her fathers band. He encouraged her to pick up a pair of drum sticks and she's been playing ever since. Eva was born and raised in Des Moines, Washington and plays a Tama Rockstar kit. In the last 15 years Eva has played in Jazz, Symphonic and various Rock bands and is inspired by sounds from many different genres. Eva is a stay at home mother/house wife by day and rocks out with the Cory Wilds Band by night.
Influences
Jimi Hendrix, Freddie King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, the list goes on...
The Cory Wilds Band is an energetic three piece unit that blends elements of traditional Rock, Blues and Jazz with a more modern tonality to create their unique and powerful guitar driven sound.
Layers of soft rippling tones can transform into ragged distorted bursts of searing guitar that ride on tight grooving bass lines and tasty drumming to create "a modern sound with an old soul."
The trio formed in 1998 as a cover band and has continued its transformation into an original act with diverse yet distinct artistic influences and a high-octane live presence on stage.
