Cosmic was formed in January, 2006, when bassist Steve Tracy joined three former members of the popular Quad-Cities band Why Not: vocalists Cathy Caparula and Christine Hollembaek, and guitarist Lamont Hillier.
The members of the new band wanted to retain the best of the Why Not cover repertoire while adding some reggae, funk, and blues covers, as well as some original material. Cosmic started playing at Quad-City venues in March, 2006.
For the next few months, the band had the good fortune to employ the talents of some great fill-in drummers while searching for the right and truly extra-terrestrial percussionist. Drummer Steve Merritt filled in for Cosmic from June to September, 2006 and, happily for all, he decided at the end of that period to join the Cosmic orbit. The band now entertains regularly at Quad-City live music venues.

The new demo sounds awesome. Cathy and Christine have amazing voices. I can't belive how well this went together and in such a short time period. Sounds good! Love it!
The songs sound awesome. Did you lay the tracks individually, or record them live. Those have to be the best vocals i've heard in the Quad Cities so far. Great job, can't wait to see you!
