When not ticklin' those ivories---I cast astrology charts. Psy-strology I call it. I have a passion for peeling away the layers of an individual's psychological onion (including my own!) and discovering our soul agreements in this lifetime and beyond. We are all connected as part of the Universal Consciousness so my layers are yours and yours are mine.
I also love all things that would be termed I presume "gothic". Cemetaries (especially at night under a full moon), spooky old atmospheric houses, hearses, historical places with a tainted past ;-), and of course historical gothic cathedrals.
For listening AND playing---classical (esp, Italian and German Baroque adagios and Beethoven, Chopin, Brahms, Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky), the BLUES (and that would be my fav for swing dancing too), classic rock, gospel, rock-a-billy, boogie-woogie piano, New Orleans classic jazz---you get the jist :-)
AND--striptease music (I've been professionally trained) Give me a cane back chair and my official wardrobe and either Joe Cocker's "You Can Leave Your Hat On" or some of the sensual music from "The Cotton Club" soundtrack and watch out!
Also adore and admire the music of Leonard Bernstein, John Adams, Martin Loridsen, Danny Elfman, Phillip Glass, Pachebel, Pucccini, Sir Edward Elgar.
For playing classical organ---hands down J.S. Bach---as Virgil Fox said, "Bach is like a jetstream--if you can get on him, you soar!"

I LOVE variety!!! I am a romantic at heart, being the artiste that I am. I also love to travel, attend cultural events (especially involving all styles of music)--they all fall under the title of "research" since I'm always finding a new piece of music through those concerts to play or an inspiring new way to lend a new interpretation to something already in my repertoire. I also am a ballroom/swing dancer and have performed in numerous shows over the years as a partner dancer. And when not tripping the lights fantastic, I can be found making a living on the other side of the stage in the "pit" playing keyboards and/or directing. I also love playing in bands---have kind of been doing this "backwards" these last few years--while a lot of teenagers were living their defiant years playing in rock bands only to give that all up to live what society calls a "normal life" (i.e.---making more $--how many people are living "the American Dream" and so sadly feeling like they have a huge noose around their neck?), I was practicing classical piano to get ready for college and ballroom dancing! Now that I'm firmly entrenched in those fields, I've been spending the last few years playing in different rock bands and refining those skills. I've also always loved boogie woogie and stride piano (Joanne Castle inspired a lot of young pianists to learn that style!) and am currently working on refining that style into my technique. I have always had the great blessing of being able to make a decent living as a freelance musician which people are always reminding me is so rare to be able to do in L.A. But it's all I've ever done for a living and so I can't even imagine not making a living solely in this field. This leads into my strong belief that you truly will get out of life exactly what you expect!
I've also been a student of Astrology (I like to call it PSYstrology since to know one's chart is to understand so much about one's psyche and why we are how we are ;-) ) for over 25 years. The Roman goddess of nature, fertility and childbirth. She is closely identified with the Greek goddess Artemis. Diana is also a moon-goddess and was originally worshipped on the mountain Tifata near Capua and in sacred forests (such as Aricia in Latium). Her priest lived in Aricia and if a man was able to kill him with a bough broken from a tree in this forest, he would become priest himself 1. Also torch-bearing processions were held in her honor here. Later she was given a temple in the working-class area on the Aventine Hill where she was mainly worshipped by the lower class (plebeians) and the slaves, of whom she was the patroness. Slaves could also ask for asylum in her temple. Her festival coincided with the idus (13th) of August.
Diana was originally a goddess of fertility and, just as Bona Dea, she was worshipped mainly by women as the giver of fertility and easy births. Under Greek influence she was equated with Artemis and assumed many of her aspects. Her name is possibly derived from 'diviana' ("the shining one"). She is portrayed as a huntress accompanied by a deer. Diana was also the goddess of the Latin commonwealth.
