Alex Grey is best known for his paintings of glowing anatomical human bodies, images that "x-ray" the multiple layers of reality and reveal the complex integration of body, mind, soul and spirit. Exhibited in museums worldwide, his art has also been on the cover of numerous magazines such as Newsweek, featured on the Discovery Channel, CNN, New York Times, Washington Post, and used as album art for diverse musical acts such as Beastie Boys, Nirvana, and Grammy award winning band TOOL, including their most recent release '10,000 Days' which debuted No. 1 on Billboard. Grey is the author of three published books: Sacred Mirrors, Transfigurations, and his philosophical text, The Mission of Art.
