Pat Costello and Tom Hipps have been friends and musical cohorts since their late teens. Not long after graduating high school, they toured the US as full-time professional musicians with their rock band THE RITZ, and later were paired in the folk/rock group Nuthin' Fancy. After a lengthy musical separation while each pursued other projects, they reunited ten years ago to form COSTELLO & HIPPS, an extremely entertaining duo with a well-rounded repertoire. They have performed in some of the nicest supper clubs and lounges in the area, and also play casinos, weddings, boat cruises, private parties, and charity fundraisers. They have twice headlined the Cities' 97 Acoustic Sunrise series and were the chosen performers for the Governor's BBQ at Canturbury. For larger venues, Rick Bell, another old friend and super-talented musician, sits in on bass guitar and congas/percussion to form the TOM HIPPS TRIO.
A COSTELLO & HIPPS show includes selections by classic crooners (Nat King Cole, Sam Cooke, Tony Bennett, Elvis Presley), timeless rock and pop artists (Beatles, Elton John, Hall & Oates, Sting), contemporary artists (John Mayer, U2, Maroon 5, Jack Johnson), essential singer/songwriters (James Taylor, Paul Simon, John Mellencamp), blues/R&B stars (Eric Clapton, Keb' Mo, Otis Redding, Stevie Ray Vaughan), country legends (Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams) and some really good original songs to boot!
