Circle of Silence (COS) is a postmetal band hailing from the Netherlands. The band has been active as a project since the late 90’s, it took until 2005 to complete the Circle. Although influenced by bands like Iron Maiden, Anathema and a lot of post rock, COS is always searching for new musical directions. Emotion, diversity and intensity are the fundaments of their music.
Circle of Silence released their debut EP “I’m out of my mind: OUT OF MY MIND!!!” at the end of 2007: This album, a collaboration with producer Tommie Bonajo (Blind Sight, 37 Stabwoundz & F.R.E.U.D.) and mastered by Peter van ‘t Riet (After Forever, Epica & Symphony X). is a melancholic and melodic flavoured mixture of rock, pop and metal! The album received positive critics by Aardschok, Mindview, 3voor12, metalfan.nl, Playground, Fret, LiveXS and Zware Metalen.
COS is known for their positive and intense live performances, where crowd participation is the key factor. The band played over 150 shows. Along the way several contests have been won, like the ”Exit Live Prijs”, Hajewa 2007 and the “Booch? Contest”.
