SYNOPSIS:
Unlike previous versions, this very elegant, stylish and gothic version of CARMILLA is closely based on J. Sheridan Le Fanu's classic novella of the same name. A beautiful young countess is brought to the home of a retired military officer after a carriage accident renders her unconscious. Upon meeting the gentleman's daughter, she and the young lady, Laura, remember having met many years before, in a dream, perhaps even a nightmare.
Set in 1462 Styria, Austria, Carmilla begins a reign of seduction and bloody terror, slowly draining the life from her new friend Laura. Laura's father, friends and servants alike,realize what is happening to his daughter and in a frantic chase, they track Carmilla to her resting place. Surrounded by the vial stench of blood, rotting flesh and carnage, they find themselves in a fierce battle to the death with a legion of demonic creatures and vampires, hell-bent on protecting Carmilla from her assailants.
