This annual concert (mainly oriented Country Music) started in 88, it began with Kenji Nagatomi inviting Charlie Mccoy, the Grammy Winner Blues Harmonica player to Japan. Since then, because of Charlie's enthusiasm and the understanding of Japanese rootsy music lover, we have been able to continue doing this concert every year.
Since then, Charlie McCoy and Kenji Nagatomi have been trying to open the door to the music lovers in Japan to get familiar with traditional country music, by inviting Grand Ole Opry stars and the musicians around them.
From last year 2007, we started to consider "country" genre with more open way, thinking inviting country-rock, alternative folk/americana and bluegrass artists. Starting with inviting Rosie Flores, this year, we are having Jim Lauderdale and The Ma'am. We are now in the time of blending fans of traditionalists and the wider and newer roots music fans. We hope all of us can enjoy all those music together and find newer way of loving them!
Along with it, since 2004, this country music concert is supported by city of Kyoto, the ancient capitol of Japan. The most beautiful season with autumn colors, it is one of the most unique event in town in early October.

Hi Mari, I'm proud to have a photo of my friend (your father) up on my site with me. I have a lot of admiration for him. I hope he enjoyed his anniversary celebration! God Bless, Jack Greene
