Originally formed in 1984, a number of musicians have passed thru the ranks and came and went as punch ups and fall out happened frequently. The best of all involving a lawnmower at a "County Line" Bar-B-Q.
After a good slot at the Bulldog Bash with an audience of 11,000 partying bikers, "County Line" showed up late on the WRONG day!!!! When they did get a slot on the Saturday they went on drunk!
Things went a little quiet thru the 90..s. A young Dave Roux saw the band at a pinnacle gig in Portsmouth when they headed the bill at a Christmas Wedgewood Rooms gig, he thought he’d check them out again but found out they’d dis-banded!!!
2001 Dave Roux took his new girlfriend to see the re-formed "County Line" ....... quite frankly, they sucked. New girlfriend who worked in Tower records saw "County Line" frontman in Tower and said "We saw you last night, what you need is my boyfriend in the band".
A week later "County Line" turned up to see Dave Roux publicly humiliate himself in his 80’s Pop tribute band covering Spandau ballet tunes. At the half-time break, over a pint, "County Line" stole Dave Roux, a years worth of gig bookings and a sound crew from the 80’s pop outfit.
2002 "County Line" drummer Al Partridge left. Frontman Karl formed a logistic nightmare and the Jon the bass player emigrated shortly after he and Dave came to blows at a "County Line" party. History repeats itself!!!
2007 Shez (original guitarist) and Dave Roux (new boy of five years) recruit Alan Dominey, bass player Tony Purdue and drummer George Francis to re-re-re-re-form "County Line" into the best version yet.
We rock better than ever, sing better than ever, louder than ever and even enjoy it a little bit now!!!!
