a screeching noise of your nails in the board, a taunting angel that wants you to kill yourself, a demon that calls upon your soul, the great bloody end of civilization!!! DEATH TO US ALL!!!!!!
This band started year 2000 formed by a group of six collegemates. They may have various metal music influences, but they were still able to produce their own kind of music. The vox was a male and a female before were the male is the one growling and the female is the one singing or the other way around. The duo of both vox and the band itself became well known since during those time UG bands dont have that kind of chemistry in the Philippines. The name coup de grace was given by Fonda after reading an article and thought why not a French name for a band? They mostly play before somewhere in QC and Ortigas.Everything was going well, until each and everyone of them has their personal reasons to leave the band but it was never a disagreement. But it didnt stop Fonda to continue singing in a band.
She contacted bands that she have known during their gigs and pulled a male vox, two guitarist, bassist and a drummer from various bands who has different genre in music. The result was far more okey. It came to a point were they decided to have Fonda as their vox only since the other male vox always failed to attend their session. They produced a 4 track demo, but unluckily, somebody took their original copy of their demo during a gig.Unfortunately, after college, Fonda went back to KSA after her parents found out she has 28 piercings in her body and so asked her to work their whether she likes it or not. Their last gig was in Manila under Cork production.
People thought that was the end of CDG, but when Fonda went back to the Philippines after 7 months in 2005, she actually continued headbanging for the CDG band! Along the way she met their latest guitarist Corix who is a writer of NBzine and plays in a grindcore band. Fonda contacted her former drummer Tonio who also plays for a death metal band and also her former bassist Yuli to have a jam session. They were back on the track, and the UG scene wanted them to play once more!
But they decided to focus their time to make a demo, rather than playing for a gig being offered to them a couple of times. Because Fonda will leave again back to KSA that time after making amends with her parents. They made the 6 track demo called "DEATH TO MANKIND" And yes, they were drunk when they went to the studio in pacita laguna. The DEATH TO MANKIND song actually have a french version but they lack d time to practice that song further. It was on the spot recording, 1hour to practice all the new songs, and then the live recording. It was all in a rush. The next day was Fonda's flight back to KSA in which she almost not made it! And they would like to say sorry for those people who supported them and didnt like the outcome of their demo NOT!
Coup De Grace will rise again and again everytime their femme vox and their guitarist Corix ( fonda in UAE * corix in KSA) will visit Philippines. They say that they may not be an ass-kicking band, they really dont mind getting negative comment as well, its natural, you cant pleased everybody. But its about their passion for music, whether someone will listen or not, they really dont care. They may have different music influences, but metal music is what drives them together, and they will continue to play NOT FOR THE BENEFIT OF ANYBODY, BUT FOR THEIR LOVE IN METAL MUSIC. Horns up!
Fonda is into goth,death and black music, Corix is into grind/crust, thrash and death metal, Tonio is into death and black metal and Yuli is into progressive, glamrock, metal music, now its up to you to describe what kind of music they have!!!.
