I became a coupon junkie about a year ago and quickly turned into a "coupon queen", but when the signs of the economic downturn were evedent I got serious! My husband was in limbo with his job, working one week, laidoff the next. With 2 younger children at home, I needed to do something to help with daily need items and groceries, and the "ultimate coupon queen" I became. After doing some research and coming up with a plan, it became very easy for me to to go shopping and buy hundreds of dollars of items for a little of nothing!I used to think clipping coupons were just a waste of time and that really you just spend more money because you buy things you wouldn't normally buy because you have a coupon. Well, yes that is true, partly. If you just buy things because you have a coupon, yes, you actually probably will spend more money. However, as soon as I figured out how to really use coupons, yes.............. IT IS WORTH THE TIME, IT IS WORTH DOING!!!! When I first told my husband about "couponing" he told me I was crazy! But then when I came home from a major retailer one day with hundreds of dollars in product and gift cards in my pocket, he became a bit puzzled. We unloaded the car and was a bit upset. "How much did you spend, and on stuff we really dont need right now?" When I showed him the receipt and the gift cards and told him they paid me to bring it home, He almost hit the floor. Now he might as well be a Coupon King! He brags to all his friends and coworkers and even sends them pics via text message! How can I keep this all to myself? With all the moms & dads out of work and all the families out there stuggling to buy basic necessities, I found a way to help my family with our bills while helping other families save on theirs!
