From October 1-31, 2008, GLTR will be checking out the photos you, dear readers, submit to us in our first-ever photo contest. We’re looking for shots of you or your girl(s) dazzling us with skateboard prowess — vert, street, pool, or bowl. Any trick goes — even super-stylie ones of you just cruising, if you’re the downhill type. E-mail your entry to streetteam@girlslearntoride. com and consider yourself in the running for a brand-new (and yet almost vintage) Cherry Blossom deck, courtesy of Cherry Skateboards. We’ll post the entries in the GLTR Photo Gallery, where you can obsessively scrutinize each one and cast your digi-vote to help us choose the Very Best One. The first five entries will each score a free one-year subscription to FOAM magazine.
Boring, but necessary: 1.Photos MUST be from amateur photographers — no pro shooters, please.
2. The subject CANNOT be a pro skateboarder — it’s gotta be a girl, and she can’t be competing against the heavies. It’s cool if she competes locally and is on flow, though.
