Think of female singer/songwriters and you may hear softly-picked love songs or angst-touched ballads angry at the world of men. Courtney Biondo brings a smile and bounce to the archetype that – while singing songs of love and life that audiences can find themselves in – stands alone in a crowded field. Her original music is clean, moving and singularly alluring, whether an upbeat tune about a drinker with a smoking problem; a slow ballad that can hush a room; or a shakable air sung on a ukulele. Her covers are creatively arranged and the power and subtlety she brings will surprise you. Combined with the deft use of a loop station providing unexpected layers, these songs come to even greater life.
Courtney is a Board-Certified Music Therapist, trained at the Berkelee College of Music in Boston, and her sensitivity to the human condition comes out in her songs and performance. She began writing music at age 11 and has been a strong presence on the music scene of New York’s Capital Region ever since. She is frequently featured on local and regional radio programs and has received glowing press in local newspapers and other media. Her live performances have ranged from small cafes and coffee shops across the Albany and Boston areas, residences at clubs and taverns, artist showcases, and major events at Fenway Park and the Pepsi Arena.
No matter the size of the venue or nature of the event, Courtney draws the eyes and ears of her audiences, touching hearts and opening minds.
