I'm a Senior Blogger for Families.com, where I write in both Pets and Marriage. Click here to see a list of my recent posts. I've got over 900 blogs posted there, so you should find something to spark your interest.
About my blogging...as of 9/28/08 I am 10,000 hits away from reaching 400,000 hits since I started in Dec 2006. (My first month I thought I was doing good getting 1,200 hits. Now I'm up to 35,000 hits a month?!? I'm flabbergasted by that so I bring it up all the time. I'm lucky to get 200 hits a year on my website, yet I get 35,000 hits per month from my blogging? That's crazy to me. Awesome, but crazy.)
In addition to blogging, I write fiction and the occassional essay. I've gotten 17 first, second and third place, honorable mention, and finalist placings in contests. The most notable have been one 2nd place, one 3rd, and a couple honorable mentions in Writers' Journal contests.
Other cool things that have happened with my writing include “Cellfish Ways” being Echelon Press's number two bestselling dollar download in 2004, and “The Clockmaker,” an Amazon Short, ranking among the Top 10 bestselling Science Fiction & Fantasy releases in the summer of 2007. I was also named one of Florida Monthly Magazines 21 Intriguing Floridians in 2005.
I'm a member of Romance Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and Mystery Writers of America, and am also visit-able on the web at courtneymroch.com.
Who I'd like to meet: A ghost (but not a demonic one), Oprah, Stephen King, Alice Hoffman, Sarah Ban Breathnach, Grant Wilson (from Ghost Hunters/TAPS), Jason Hawes (from Ghost Hunters/TAPS), Donna and Steve (from Ghost Hunters/TAPS),
Ozzy from Survivor Cook Islands, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Chris Verstraete, Karen Syed, Lisa Pietsch, Jade Walker, Lisa Logan, Barack Obama, John Galt, Howard Rourke, Ayn Rand, Michael Moore
Congrats on your essay in the Bylines Desk Calendar this week. And what's a Senior blogger? It makes you sound like you are 75 years old. What a shock to see your real age on Myspace. lol
Jane Russell was a delight to interview. Soft-spoken, kind and down-to-earth. Talking to her was as easy as talking to my best friend. She's a class act. I wrote a blog about my interview with her. It's on my Amazon Profile ... Link: http://www. amazon. com/gp/pdp/profile/A3MFU0GVZUVH3K/104-5637778-6149507
Jane Russell's blog is one of the first blogs I wrote (right after my Clint Eastwood blog), so you'll have to scroll pretty far down to find it. With that in mind, I'm going to post it in a bulletin. I hope you find it.
Thanks for asking and good luck with your writing career.
Mongo is Zeus... ever seen "Blazing Saddles"? MONGO!!!! So, we went to the dogpark in Franklin. I was all stressed out cuz there was this older couple who kept ear-jackin' everyone. Serial talkers EVERYWHERE in this world it seems. So, I'm kinda soured on that one. Where do you take Murphy?
My first release, Somewhere My Love, a murder mystery/ghost story romance with flashbacks to early nineteenth century Virginia, is out at the Wild Rose Press: http://www. thewildrosepress. com/
"You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police. Yet in their hearts there is unspoken - unspeakable! - fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts! Words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home, and all the more powerful because they are forbidden. These terrify them. A little mouse - a little tiny mouse! - of thought appears in the room and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic." -- Quote From A Possible Dictator Himself
