Cousin Dave is returning to the solo acoustic scene but not exclusively... A new rock band was formed called "The Depth Charges" which should be playing in a rock venue near you very soon with Dave on the mic and guitar, and Frak shredding away as usual... the new faces for bass and drums haven't been revealed yet, but you can rest assured that Dave nor Frak has abandoned the rock roots from which they come from and grow in daily. There is some re-recording going on right now, and soon you will hear new stuff from both Dave solo and The Depth Charges as a band. For booking of either act please contact Dave Palmer directly via MySpace e-mail here or wherever you may see him.
Many have asked what the whole Cousin Dave thing is about, so here's the story...
A long time ago (April 2006)... in a land far away (Auburn, AL)... there was a band called Lynam, a band of 3 brothers (Jacob, Mark, and David Lynam) who completely rock! They were rocking the crowd with some killer 80's covers and my ears were perked by the sounds of Bon Jovi... which happens to be one of my favorite bands. I mentioned to a new friend that I met that night (my buddy and yours BV) that I do a pretty good Jon Bon Jovi sound-alike performance and before I knew it, Jacob's sister Lisa was involved in the conversation and she talked to the band, and the next show in Auburn I was set to join Lynam on stage for the Bon Jovi medley portion of the show. I decided that maybe I needed to make a name for myself (because I was previously unknown in these parts), and it would not be believable that I too am one of the Lynam brothers (since there is already a Dave in the band), so I made myself a shirt that said "Cousin Dave" in the Lynam logo's font and style. Jacob gave me a great intro saying, "... We have family here in town to perform for you tonight. Come on out here Cousin Dave! ..." The music started and history was made... I became Cousin Dave. So there ya have it!
