Having played together in a couple of previous bands, John (guitar) and Jay (drums) started rehearsing together again in fall of 2007, with the intention of starting a new project. Shortly, Barry (bass) joined the lineup and the core of Cover Her Face was established. The band wrote as a trio while it awaited someone to give voice (actual voice) to the churning currents of their compositions. That someone was Carl, whose dynamic vocals and penetrating lyrics solidified the band's line-up. In the summer of 2009, Frank (guitar) added his technical skill and leads, creating a fuller, more layered sound.
That sound, of course, remains straight-up, unapologetic metal. Metal that acknowledges its roots as it forges ahead into the future. Songs that careen from agressive thrash to a ferocious whisper and back again without missing a drumbeat.
