Covert Recording is more than just another record label. It was set up in response to the hijacking of creativity by major corporations. Instead of just being a small piece trying to wedge itself into the mainstream market we are attempting to build an alternative network for creating, promoting and distributing music.
There seems to be an obvious problem with the music scene: the major labels have the business side of things locked down and are exploiting their power to maximise their profits by filling the charts up with formularised pop music. While there is an undisputed wealth of talent out there the majority of artists are either broke and/or have no idea how to succeed in a business environment. Our aim is to sell real music to real people and help the independent hip hop scene to mature in a positive way.
If you want to become a millionaire over night we are not the label for you. However, if you just want to make good music and get it released without having to deal with all the bullshit from corporate fat cats who have no understanding of the hip hop scene, then you will fit in well with what we are doing.
Covert Recording is about building a strong community of ambitious independent artists who strive for success but also support other people in the scene. Be part of it.
