I say that because you'd think it'd be easy for me to sit here and write a few sentences about myself ... you know, who I am, what I do for a living, what my idea of fun is. But no, that seems to be the one thing I CAN'T write.
Need a 120-page screenplay? Good as done. Want me to take over a monthly comic book for a year? Sure, I can tackle that. A 20-page term paper on the linguistic propeties of Joss Whedon's work? Not only have I done that, I got a freakin' 108 on it. Game stories and various other assignments for the Daily Press? Hey, that's my bread and butter -- and while we're at it, my steak and taters.
Hell, I even wrote a 50,000 novel in 30 days. It's still not done, but the fact is -- I did it. And I plan on doing it again next November.
But a profile page for MySpace? That's my proverbial Kryptonite (and notice how there are no Qs in Kryptonite ... just like there are no Qs in ridiculous).
Anyhoo, in case you haven't figured it out by now, I write -- both for a living and for fun. I've been a high school sports writer for the Daily Press for almost two years, but I also work in the Office of Sports Information at Hampton University, writing stories for the school's athletic website and generating content for the teams' media guides. I also serve as the primary media contact for cross country and track & field.
I also write for fun ... stories, roleplays (ask me about City Limits!), screenplays, comic books ... my brain is a fountain of imagination and all sorts of really strange, inexplicable things. Honestly, it's a scary place sometimes.
I graduated from Old Dominion University in May 2006, getting my bachelors in Communications with an emphasis in Mass Media. Ya know, for that little journalism thing I've got going on.
And since I can't end one of these things -- let alone write one in the first place -- I'll just say ...
The End. I know, how unoriginal. Sue me; you won't get much.
Who I'd like to meet: Ummm...people who aren't jerks and/or idiots? Doesn't seem like too much to ask ...
I'm interested in meeting people with similar interests as me. Anyone into sports and/or broadcasting, as well as anyone willing to have an open-minded conversation about the workings of the world. All in all, I just want to meet some nice, genuine people. Tired of getting screwed over by the fake and insecure.
But if I must name off celebrities to meet ... lesse here ... already met Stan Lee ... I'd love to meet Joss Whedon, Kevin Smith, David Boreanaz (cause I think he's really cute), Eliza Dushku (cause she is teh sexy), Jason Mewes (now that he's all clean and stuff) and, just for the hell of it, Alanis Morrisette ... because I think it'd be hilarious for a Wiccan to say he's met God.
