Cowboy Up is a 4-piece Country Band hailing from Washington, IA. Having been together for under a year, the band has already massed a following of loyal fans in the area. Playing mostly top-40 country, and mixing up their show with a few classic favorites and originals to spice up the night. Frontman Gordy Nebel appeared on the ..Porter Wagoner/Dolly Parton showcase in Redlevel, Alabama at the age of 8. He also appeared (age 12) with Conway Twitty’s son, Michael, in Chicago IL. Having country music in his blood from this young age, Gordy went on to play in several bands, including ..Stampede’ in the 80’s, where he met Cowboy Up drum-thrasher Dan Crossette. The lineup is completed by Coralville musical virtuoso Mark ..he plays everything’ Chorpening, and English bass player Chris Monaghan, who on any given day can be found playing punk or death metal when he’s not rocking out redneck-style.
One of the band’s trademarks is to switch instruments many times during their set, confusing most of the audience (and some of the band members!). Definitely a band not to miss.
